How do you meet your spirit guides?
You meet a spirit guide the same way you’d recognize someone in the dark — one detail at a time. Rather than expecting a full, cinematic vision, you gather clues: the direction they arrive from, their movement, color, shape, a sound, a feeling. Even three clear pieces of information is a successful first meeting. The key is to go slow and let it build.
You don’t need to "see" them perfectly
The biggest block is expecting a Hollywood apparition. Your guide communicates through whichever of your senses is strongest — you might feel them, hear a word, or simply know something. All of it counts. You’re not failing if you don’t get a crystal-clear picture; you’re gathering a real impression, piece by piece.
A simple way to make contact
- Get quiet and safe first. Settle your body, relax the survival-mind, and enter a calm, open state where you’re okay with "not knowing."
- Invite one guide. Not your whole team — the one you’re meant to work with right now. (Free will matters: guides step in once invited.)
- Notice the first clue — direction. Which direction do they arrive from? Then let more come: movement, color, shape, texture, sound, a knowing.
- Ask "what does this remind me of?" rather than straining to see. Let your mind offer associations.
- Thank them, and stop while it’s clean — a few minutes is plenty at first.
How to know it’s really a guide (and not just you)
Check for body confirmation — a chill, a settling, a buzz — and use a discernment method (pendulum, muscle testing, sway test) to confirm. Real guidance also tends to come one step at a time: you act on what you receive, and the next piece comes. If nothing’s coming, it’s usually the wrong question, a block, or a message in a language you haven’t decoded yet. And if you catch yourself thinking "I’m just making this up" — that doubt is normal, and it’s exactly what discernment is for.
